Tarkin reassigned Daala to his personal staff in the Outer Rim, and under his supervision, she became a
commander, then a
captain. She absorbed all that Tarkin taught her and came to analyze every situation in terms of how Tarkin might respond to it.

admiral in an unofficial act outside of
Coruscant's naval hierarchy that was nevertheless legitimate among Tarkin's forces in the Outer Rim,
