Episode VII Besetzung von Episode VII bestätigt!

Igitt, United Talent Agency... Riesenunternehmen, keinerlei Service gegenüber Fans. Für Schauspieler aber schon eine der Top-Agenturen, die nehmen wirklich nicht jeden (aber auch nicht nur Superstars).
 
Adam Driver spricht über Star Wars Episode VII.

Star Wars Episode VII star Adam Driver spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently about his role in the upcoming film. While he didn't reveal much about the new film, he did address various topics surrounding the film, such as spoilers, the previous six films, and Harrison Ford's ankle injury. We have some highlights from the interview below.

On the topic of spoilers and keeping secrets Driver said,
There was never a time where someone sat me down and was like, “People are going to do this or say this or ask this.” They never had that conversation with me. Instead, they kind of trusted that I wouldn’t say anything. I’m one of those crazy people, if I’m watching the trailer for a movie and I’m really excited by it, I’ll turn it off because I don’t want to know anything. I want to be surprised because I love that more than knowing anything. I don’t think they felt the need to tell me [to stay quiet].

Driver also took a few moments to discuss the theme of friendship in the original trilogy,
Friendship, I feel, is something that maybe isn’t investigated as much—or maybe I’m not watching those movies. It was such a huge part of the original three. “I’m going to go save my friend.” Everyone was going to go bail their friends out. “I can’t do this because my friends, everything is at stake because of my friends. I gotta go back. … Yoda, I gotta leave, whatever… I gotta leave.” [Laughs]

And he also told EW how his schedule was affected by Ford's injury,
I just stay there a little bit longer. I don’t start anything next until mid-November, end of December, November time.

It's good to see some full interviews with the cast starting to come out, so we as fans can get to know them as we race towards the films release date on December 18, 2015. That being said, I must admit the timing of the release of this interview is a bit suspicous. It seems like an attempt from Lucasfilm (through EW) to deflect attention away from some of the major leaks that have taken place today (ICYMI - here, here, here, here, and here). Regardless of the motives, the interview is still a great read!

Sry, aber bei dir ist das immer reflexartiges Kontra geben, sobald auch nur ein Hauch von Kritik an Lucasfilm/ Disney/ Produktionsentscheidungen etc. in der Luft liegt oder jemanden etwas persönlich nicht gefällt.
Das ist genau so nervig wie das ewige "Rummeckern über Alles" anderer Fans.

Aber okay, hier soll es um die Besetzung der neuen Episoden gehen.

Ich muss sagen, dass mir viele der "Neuen" vom Namen her nichts sagen. Aber es war für die Reihe ja schon immer ein Vorteil relativ unverbrauchte Gesichter zu haben. Auf die Rolle von Andy Serkis bin ich natürlich auch gespannt, vllt. nimmt er ja wieder eine Doppelrolle (einmal CGI, einmal "in echt") wie z.B. in King Kong ein.
 
Du Lucasfilm bin ich auch ab und an kritisch gegenüber eingestellt.

Zu Andy Serkis: Da würde ich es ganz gut finden wenn er mal in natura zu sehen ist,und nicht ein digitales Ebenbild.

Simon Pegg wurde anscheinend erneut bestätigt, diesmal von Daisy Ridley beim Ice Bucket Challenge:

Neben einer Freundin hat sie auch noch Mark Hamill und Simon Pegg nominiert. Jedenfalls ein bezauberndes Persönchen... ich mag sie schon jetzt.

Oscar Isaac hat sich ebenfalls mit einem Eiskübel übergossen, und in dem Video sind sogar Harrison Ford und Adam Driver im Kostüm dabei:

Zumindest würde dies auf Episode VII zutreffen, denn die Hauptdarsteller wurden ja schon alle vor Monaten angekündigt.
Auf der anderen Seite wurde selbst Andy Serkis bereits vor einiger Zeit angekündigt (als Darsteller und "Partner" im Bereich Performance Capture) und auch er wird (so vermute ich) keine sonderlich große Rolle haben.
In dem Sinne hätte es schon lange eine Ankündigung geben müssen..
 
Bei Andy Serkis denke ich schon, das er eine größere Rolle in dem Film inne hat,zumindest würde ich es mir wünschen.Und ich hoffe sehr, das er in körperlicher Form vorkommt und nicht in digitaler.
 
Wie ich das sehe nomiert man für den Eiskübel immer Leute, mit denen man befreundet ist oder die man kennt. Und Daisy Ridley kann Simon Pegg nur durch EP7 kennen. Im Fall Simon Pegg scheint das bis jetzt eh nur auf ein Cameo hinzudeuten, also kein Grund für eine offizielle Ankündigung.
 
Adam Driver spricht über Episode VII.

Star Wars Episode VII star Adam Driver spoke with The Wall Street Journal this past week while promoting his new film Hungry Hearts which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this week. Naturally the topic of Star Wars came up and Driver discussed his first meeting with JJ Abrams about being in the film.

Driver said,
"I’ve never done anything on this scale before. It’s a very exciting project to be involved with. I love it. When I first met J.J. [Abrams, director], it was all about character and story. That was the first thing out of his mouth, so that’s what we’ve been working on. So, even though it is a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, it’s still very human. It’s not taking a back seat to effects or the spectacle of it."

It's good to hear that, as we expected, the focus of Episode VII is the story and not solely the visuals. Yes, the visuals have always been a major focal point in Star Wars, however they have always been in support of the story. From what Driver is saying, it sounds like Episode VII will keep that trend going!

Anthony Daniels spricht über Episode VII und Rebels.

The actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six Star Wars films, as well as pretty much every Star Wars spin off material including The Clone Wars and Star Tours, Anthony Daniels spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his career as and what's next for the golden protocol droid. Daniels is set to reprise his role as Threepio in Star Wars Episode VII and lend his voice to the droid on Star Wars Rebels, the upcoming animated series from Lucasfilm Animation.
When asked about the potential of a CGI Threepio in the future, Daniels described his first talk with Episode VII director JJ Abrams,
"I will tell you that when [director] J.J. Abrams rang me to ask about filming Episode VII, one of the first things he said after he told me how wonderful I was — and that didn’t take long — but he then said, “Would you be interested in being in the film just doing the voice?” I said, “No,” and he said, “Right!” He knew I’d say that. There’s no way I would just do the voice. I also said that it can’t be the same suit. I will tell you that the team then got together and built a new suit. They made an entirely new look-a-like with changes that you will never notice [on screen] that made my life a lot easier. I can get it on and off very quickly. [During the prequels], the only time [Threepio has] been CG was when it was very dangerous [to act in the scene in a suit] — and it wasn’t very good. In fact, I’m going to say it was awful. One of the difficulties is with a character that you know and love so well is that, as a member of the audience, you go, “Oh no, that’s not right. No, he doesn’t move like that.” With me [in the suit], he’s always going to move the same way and have the same reactions, timing, and so on. With CG, you’re working with some brilliant person on the keyboard who is trying to pretend to be me. The only time that has worked without doubt is Disney’s Star Tours: The Adventures Continue [theme park ride]. There’s an element in the pre-show which is digital and I cannot tell it’s not me. It’s brilliantly done by Disney. In a cartoon series like Rebels, you accept it because it’s not trying to pretend to be reality. It’s an extension, it’s an exaggeration. On that basis, it’s utterly acceptable — providing the characterization is correct."
Daniels also discussed bringing Treepio to life in animated form for Star Wars Rebels,
"It’s unique that it goes very specifically to a given period of time, which is just before the film that I happened to like the best — which is A New Hope, the first one. There are now three generations [of fans], which I know because of my work with Star Wars: In Concert where I could see in the audience terrifyingly young children and I thought, “They’re going to be a menace,” and they sat there open-mouthed at the story that I was telling to them onstage with the orchestra. Now you can [ease] people into A New Hope. And you’ve seen I, II and III, there’s gaps there. What happened to these characters? We love them. We want to see what they did when they were not in the big films. Because George and everybody who’s followed on has created such a reality in the galaxy far, far away that we want to see more about it."

Oscar Isaac spricht über Episode VII.

Hatten Sie vor oder hinter der Kamera viel mit dem Original-Trio Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford und Mark Hamill zu tun?
Ja, habe ich. In beiden Fällen. Sie sind so witzig. Carrie ist so urkomisch und liefert so coole Arbeit ab. Harrison ist zurück. Er musste eine Unterbrechung einschieben, ist aber zu 150% zurück. Es ist echt toll zu sehen, wie er zurückkommt. Er sieht toll aus. Jeder hat eine tolle Zeit. J.J. gibt den Ton vor. Es herrscht Enthusiasmus und der Film wird mit einer Menge Herz gemacht. In der Art und Weise, wie wir den Film machen, steckt kein Funken Zynismus. Sogar in der Art, wie er ihn dreht - er dreht ihn auf Film, baut die Kulissen tatsächlich auf. Man hat hunderte von Sturmtruppen oder was auch immer, hunderte Statisten und all diese Raumschiffe. Man kann sie wirklich sehen. Es ist alles echt. Jeder kann mit dieser Welt interagieren.

Die klassischen Filme, von denen Sie ja laut eigener Aussage ein Riesenfan sind, stecken voller platter, bzw. klischeehafter Dialoge, die auch von den Darstellern immer wieder kritisiert wurden. Wie steht es in diesem Punkt mit Episode VII?
Tja. [lacht]. Ich suche ständig nach solchen Sätzen, schon um der alten Zeiten willen. Aber nein, was sie versuchen und was auch wirklich toll ist, ist, dass J. J. das Ganze etwas lockerer angeht und sich bemüht, alles lebendiger und lebensnäher zu machen. Diese ganze Welt ist nicht so formal, das sind chaotische Leute voller Energie. Und wir arbeiten alle bewusst daran, das auch deutlich zu machen, um dem Ganzen etwas mehr Feuer und Spontanität zu verleihen.

Das Oscar Isaac viel mit dem klassischem Cast interagiert sagt einiges über seine Rolle. Das lässt die Vermutung wachsen, dass ER ein Abkömmling von Han und/oder Leia ist und nicht Daisy Ridley.
